RP Ambushed by Iran, 75-69

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

* I’m so disappointed with this game. By the 2nd quarter, I was so disgusted at how our NT was playing, I wanted to give up watching the game. We were simply miserable out there, we just couldn’t seem to make our shots.
* I thought, “why the heck aren’t [...]

SE P990i User Interface

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007

My brother bought an SE P990i a couple of weeks ago, his first SE phone. After tinkering w/ it for some time, he found that he’s just not a non-Nokia User Interface type of guy. Jumping at the chance of owning a new phone, I traded it for my Nokia N80.
‘iPhone-Like Interface’

My Final Lineup For The RP NT

Sunday, July 22nd, 2007

* Here’s my final lineup for the RP NT bound for Tokushima, Japan for the FIBA Asia Men’s Championship:
Starters:
* Jimmy Alapag – PG
The quickest, & fastest guy on the team, if not of all of Asia at the moment. Incredibly strong, great leaping ability. Can shoot the threes consistently, pass, break [...]

Johnny A. & The Charlotte Hornets

Friday, July 20th, 2007

* I’ve read a couple of times in various forum threads about the case of Johnny Abbarientos & the Charlotte Hornets back in the 90s. The story is slowly but surely becoming sort of an urban legend, & I think it is important that we try to clarify what really happened then.
* [...]

RP Beats Lebanon, 87-81

Monday, July 16th, 2007

* RP’s “6th Man” crowd was present in this game as the Big Dome was easily at 90% of its full capacity.
* Almost everybody in the RP team put on a show during the pre-game warm ups with slam dunks because of the huge crowd, w/ Williams, Norwood & ALAPAG coming up w/ [...]

Syria Beats China, 90-85

Monday, July 16th, 2007

* Got to watch the game live at the Araneta coliseum.
‘Syrian National Team’
* Terrific game by Madantley, easily establishing himself as one of the best in Asia. Despite the Chinese’s impressive athletic ability, they just couldn’t stop him, no matter how hard they tried.
* This Syrian team showed a [...]

RP Beats Syria, 92-79

Sunday, July 15th, 2007

‘Syrian National Team’
* The Syrians have quite a tall frontline, 7′0″, 6′10″, 6′10″, but unlike Jordan or Qatar, their big men are not of high quality. They seem to lack athleticism, they’re not quick, nor are they great leapers. Hence, despite their height advantage, we were able to match up w/ them [...]

RP Beats Lebanon, 88-83

Saturday, July 14th, 2007

* Another “ironic” game for us. In the 1st half, both teams played a 2-3 Zone, where we buried them w/ our 3 pt. shooting. In the 2nd half, both teams played man-to-man, & it was Vogel’s turn to bury us w/ 3 pt. shots. We couldn’t go back to the [...]
